MD: General In Medicine (MD) is a post graduate course that is spread over the span of three years, though the curriculum for this course does not delve into an in-depth study of surgery, it does have certain modules where surgery is addressed. The prospective career paths this degree can lead a person to includes being, teaching faculty in a medical college, or a specialist practicing in either government run or private hospitals.
MS: The Masters Of Surgery (MS), on the other hand is a two to three year program, to which the practice of general surgery is central. After the completion of this program the respective candidate can proceed with practicing surgery.
